Join Rabbi Wolpe and Craig Taubman
for our monthly Musical Shabbat Service.

Sinai welcomes International Scholars from 18 countries
who are researching Religious Pluralism through the State
Department’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.


Following Services:

  • A Q&A with our visiting scholars about Jewish tradition and Religious tolerance in America

  • The Artist Salon – an open-mic that embraces the Shabbat tradition of sharing songs and stories. You can sit in the audience or sign up to participate at https://sinaitemple.org/events/ATID/Salon

  • Speed Networking in the ATID Lounge for young professionals (ages 21-39, ID required). In addition to our regular cocktails and conversation, we will have a structured schmooze with different partners and topics every 5 minutes. Anticipated Menu: mini hot-dogs, potato knishes, and beer.

  • Israeli Dancing will be back in August & November.

ATID Outdoors - Bicycle Ride at the Beach

Join us for a 2 hour bike ride along the board walk in Santa Monica followed by a vegetarian lunch at Perry’s Beachside Café.

Cost: 3 hr Bike Rental & Lunch: $30 for members, $35 for non-members
Vegetarian Lunch Only: $10 for members, $15 for non-members

Getting to Know You - a 6 week storytelling workshop
Getting to know you: A 6 week personal storytelling workshop

Workshop includes
  • A safe and encouraging space for you to explore and develop the personal stories that make you who you are and influence the way you see the world.
  • Activities and discussions that stimulate memory, imagination, metaphor, and sensory perception.
  • Creative writing assignments to explore the meanings we assign to the individual and collective myths that frame life’s narratives.
  • A staged reading for participants to share their stories, which will forever be works-in-progress.

Showcase: Sunday, August 16th ~ 7:00 pm

Tuition: $200 for Sinai Members, $236 for Non-Members

Martin Buber (1878-1965) was an Austrian-born Jewish philosopher, theologian, translator, educator, editor of Hasidic tradition, and cultural Zionist. His philosophy of dialogue and the interpersonal nature of human existence has had a profound impact in the areas of religion, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, psychology, academia, and politics.
